There are four engine options available for the Ram 1500 in 2022, giving you many excellent options to choose from, catering to various performance and fuel economy needs. The base engine for the Ram 1500 is the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, cranking out 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. It also gets an additional 90 lb-ft of launch torque from the eTorque mild-hybrid system. The next engine up is the 5.7-litre V8 HEMI, which also has the option for the eTorque system, but for this engine, it adds 130 lb-ft of launch torque. As for the 5.7-litre HEMI V8's output figures, you can expect to have 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The Ram 1500 has only one option for diesel powertrain, the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine with 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. For maximum performance from the Ram 1500, you will want to opt for the TRX-exclusive 6.2-litre supercharged V8 HEMI that can produce 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

2022 RAM 1500 Towing Capacity

You can expect the Ram 1500 to tow 7,710 pounds with the base engine option, sufficient for various towing applications. If you prefer diesel towing, the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel can tow 12,560 pounds, all while delivering excellent fuel economy. However, if you wish to have the best towing performance, you will need to opt for the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine, which has a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds when properly equipped.
